Emily Atack and Danny Dyer's new primetime ITV game show is revealed - and insiders say its premise is VERY familiar

Emily Atack and Danny Dyer 's new primetime ITV game show has been revealed, but its premise is raising eyebrows. It was revealed earlier this year that the pair, who both starred in the Disney+ hit Rivals, will front a Saturday night game show called Nobody's Fool. Bosses at the broadcaster brought in the pair in a bid to 'freshen up their entertainment talent', it was reported. The duo are reportedly set to receive a whopping £250,000 each for the gig, with the show expected to air next year. But similarities between Nobody's Fool and Rivals are said to have raised eyebrows behind the scenes. A source told The Sun: 'Rivals is the story of a web of rival individuals which is spun around a stately house, Penscombe Court, and their efforts to constantly outdo one another. 'That's exactly the basis for the new gameshow, which also has the background of a country pile and sees all the competitors try to outwit one another. 'Those in the know are already describing it as: "A game of intellect and deception" which could be the catchline for one of Jilly's novels.' MailOnline has contacted representatives for Danny and Emily for comment. Danny and Emily have been busy so far this year filming the second series of the smash-hit series, based on the racy books of Dame Jilly Cooper. Danny, who played pub landlord Mick Carter in EastEnders for almost a decade, is no stranger to game shows. The hardman previously hosted The Wall for the BBC, which ran for three series before ending in 2022 when Danny left EastEnders and the BBC. Mum-of-one Emily starred as a team captain on now-axed CelebJuice with Keith Lemon and Laura Whitmore. Danny recently revealed there is so much bonking in Rivals 2 – which is currently filming - that they have hired every intimacy coach in the UK. He said: 'We are doing 12 episodes of Rivals and we are filming until March next year. 'It is brilliant but it is a mad thing to do a sex scene. If you think about it you are legally allowed to tongue someone else. It is part of your job. Depending on your partner. It is OK if you fancy it, I am not going to lie.' He added: 'On Rivals there are a lot of intimacy coaches. I think we used every intimacy coach in the land.' In the smash hit Disney + show, based on the novel by Jilly Cooper, Danny played self-made businessman Freddie Jones who goes into business with Rupert Campbell-Black, played by Alex Hassell and Declan O'Hara played by Aidan Turner. In the show Jones falls in love with romance author Lizzie Vereker, played by actress Katherine Parkinson. The initial run was eight episodes but Disney + have asked for more this time around. Danny's performance as Jones has been hailed as bringing heart to the frothy, pulpy show, which has led to a reassessment of him as an actor, following his long-running stint in EastEnders. He was awarded a Bafta in May for his performance in Mr Bigstuff. He told Esquire magazine: 'People saw me in a different light[in Rivals], and it came out just after Mr. Bigstuff, which, for once, shows a bit of versatility, because Lee is so different to Freddie. 'I've made a lot mistakes over the years. I've said yes to a lot of jobs I probably shouldn't have, probably because I was driven by the dollar – I had bills to pay and kids in private schools. Now, I'm at a stage where I have loads of offers that I've got the power to say no to. I think I'll be defined by what I say no to, and it's really exciting for me.' On stage at the Baftas where he won the award to Best Male Performance in a Comedy he said: 'What a touch! Comedy performance. I thought my acting was so bad it was funny. I want to thank Sky for giving our show a shot. F***ing hell, I'm choked up. 'I got to dedicate this to (Mr Bigstuff writer) Ryan Sampson. One of the greatest things to come out of Rotherham. Which is not saying much. 'But one of the best actors this country's ever produced, I'm telling you. Never done the same thing twice. Which is not something I can say. He wrote this part for me, so you know... I'm getting choked up again, f**k me.'

Emily Atack and Danny Dyer's huge new ITV show revealed

A FEW eyebrows were raised in the TV world when two of the biggest stars of hit drama Rivals were revealed to be fronting a gameshow for ITV. Actors Emily Atack and Danny Dyer will host the big new Saturday night entertainment show, which is due to air next year. 5 But the parallels between Disney's Jilly Cooper adaptation and the new programme, called Nobody's Fool, don't end with ITV's choice of hosts. A TV insider said: 'Rivals is the story of a web of rival individuals which is spun around a stately house, Penscombe Court, and their efforts to constantly outdo one another. 'That's exactly the basis for the new gameshow, which also has the background of a country pile and sees all the competitors try to outwit one another. 'Those in the know are already describing it as: 'A game of intellect and deception' which could be the catchline for one of Jilly's novels.' In Rivals, which debuted last year, Emily played an MPs saucy wife, Sarah Stratton, who was caught playing naked tennis with sexy lothario Rupert Campbell-Black at his country house. The scene caused such a stir it was nominated for Bafta for the top TV moment of the year. Meanwhile, Danny plays self-made millionaire Freddie Jones, who's trapped in a loveless marriage, but finds romance elsewhere. The second half of Jilly's book, first published in 1988, is now being turned into a second series which also airs in 2026. Which could be particularly awkward if both shows drop around the same time… My clothes were ripped off by famous author in taxi sex attack…boss's response sickened me, says Rivals' Jilly Cooper 5 LEO'S INSPECTOR NORSE HE made a pec-tacular impression starring in the Vikings: Valhalla on Netflix - but the historic drama's once muscly leading man looks to have trimmed down. Leo Suter played hirsuite Harald Sigurdsson in two series of the show, which required him to lift some serious weight toget to get that warrior physique. 5 5 5 Now the actor's sporting a more refined look to play Tommy Lynley, a police detective in new BBC One thriller, Lynley, which drops this autumn. The four-parter, which also stars Daniel Mays and Sofia Barclay, is an adaptation of best-selling crime novels by Elizabeth George. All the action is spurred on by the dynamic between central character Tommy, who comes from a posh background, and a working class sergeant, Barbara Havers, played by Sofia. Together the 'mismatch' turns them into a formidable crime-fighting partnership…plus Sofia can always spot Leo if he ever starts hitting the gym again. HAPPY Gilmore 2 has gone straight to the top of the Netflix trending chart. The sequel has been released nearly 30 years after the original, the highly anticipated sequel to the cult 1996 comedy Happy Gilmore sees Adam Sandler reprise his role as the golfer at the heart of the comedy. APPLE TV+ has renewed Stick for a second season. The golfing comedy drama is exec produced by Owen Wilson and also sees him play Pryce Cahill, an over-the-hill, ex-pro whose career was derailed prematurely 20 years ago. Then he finds new purpose after meeting a troubled 17-year-old golfer called Santi. PADDY'S SUNDAY BLUES PADDY McGUINNESS has had, erm, a bit of a paddy after not being able to sail into his own BBC Radio 2 show. The comedian, TV presenter and DJ revealed security at the entrance of the Salford studios refuse him entry unless he shows his work pass. Shortly after kicking off his Sunday morning show last week, Paddy took to the airwaves to moan: 'How long have we been doing this show? It's been over a year, actually. 'I'm just wondering when security are going to know it's me. 'I'm not even bothered about them recognising me off the telly, or anything I've done throughout my career. 'Just the fact that I come in every Sunday for a year and a bloke still wouldn't let me in this morning.'

Danny Dyer Shares The Importance Of THAT Mr Bigstuff 2 Nude Scene

Ahead of Sky's second season of Mr Bigstuff, star Danny Dyer has shared his insights into its opening nude scene (shared on the show's trailer). Speaking to The Sun, the actor, who plays Lee Campbell in the TV hit, said he had a surprising way of hiding his 'Hampton.' 'Ever run through a council estate naked? It's a whole new ball game, literally. I was concentrating on the weather, more than anything else, you know, that it wasn't too cold!' he shared with the interviewer. 'It was broad daylight. I didn't go fully [nude], I had a little sock over my Hampton,' the former EastEnders actor revealed. But the move was not easy. 'You read this stuff, and you go, 'OK, I've got to physically do it,'' Danny stated. 'But it's important to the show, it's a vital scene. You go, 'He's back.' It's the way of showing the alpha is back.' No wonder both Danny and Mr Bigstuff co-star Ryan Samson recently told HuffPost UK how hard it was to contain their giggles on-set. View this post on Instagram A post shared by HuffPost UK (@huffpostuk) 'It's so good, the show, and it's so cleverly-written, we play it all straight,' Danny said. 'I think me and [Ryan] are... perfectionists, we don't like corpsing [breaking character to laugh]. After you've done it a few times, really, you don't find it funny anymore.' Ryan agreed, saying sometimes 'you're concentrating so much' the wild scenes stop seeming funny. To be fair, it sounds like they had a lot of material with which to distract themselves. The show's synopsis reads: 'Series 2 picks up two weeks after the shock news that the brothers' dad's not actually dead, and Lee and Glen are handling it very differently. 'But, with chaos mounting and questions piling up, the brothers unite on a mission to track him down. 'Meanwhile, Kirsty's taking charge in the bedroom and the boardroom, but one badly timed kiss ― and a mysterious blackmailer ― threaten to bring it all crashing down. With secrets spilling and tempers flaring, it's only a matter of time before the family blows up... again.' Mr Bigstuff will return on Sky Max and NOW on Thursday, June 24. Related...
